Kenneth Michaud enters his first year as the head tennis coach.
Coach Michaud spent the past three years coaching boys tennis at Rancho High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. At Rancho, Michaud posted at 33-17 overall record and won the league for the first time in 17 seasons and was named Class 4A league Coach of the Year. Michaud was also a finalist for Las Vegas Sun Standout Awards for Coach of the Year. Previous to Rancho High School, he was a head coach of both the men's and the women's programs at Jacksonville College in Jacksonville, Texas. While there, both programs were ranked in the 25th in the NJCAA. He had two women's players that were ranked in the top 50 and one women's doubles team that was ranked 33rd in the nation. Prior to that, Michaud was an assistant at Mesa Community College. That season, the team finished with a season record of 16-0. The team was NJCAA Region One champions and finished 10that the NJCAA Division I national championships.
Michaud played tennis at Reedley Community College before transferring to Graceland University (Iowa) and finishing out his career. While at Graceland, the team was ranked nationally in the NAIA. They were ranked in the top-25 both seasons and his junior year they won the Heart of America conference tournament and advanced to the NAIA national tournament. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Graceland and a minor in psychology.
Juniata, founded in 1876, is a church-affiliated, liberal arts college. Its 110-acre campus, 350-acre nature preserve, and 665-acre environmental studies field are located in Huntingdon.
