Two-time NCAA champion and five-time ITA All-American Lauren Embree was hired as assistant coach of the Pepperdine women’s tennis program in July 2017. She brought a wealth of playing experience at the collegiate and professional levels and immediately helped lead the Waves to the team’s 6th-straight West Coast Conference Tournament title and the 17th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018. She begins her second year with the program for the 2018-19 campaign.

From 2014-17 Embree had played in the ITF Pro Circuit, earning a career-high singles ranking of 232 and doubles ranking of 238. She traveled around the world to places including China, Europe, Australia and South America. Throughout her professional career, Embree amassed 92 career singles wins and 60 career doubles wins within ATP/WTA and ITA Pro Circuit events. She won her first professional singles title at the Fort Worth 10K in 2013. Most recently in 2017, she won the Manacor 15K with Chilean partner Alexa Guarachi. She won other doubles titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015 as well, including Brisbane 25K and Redding 25K twice.

Embree was a five-time ITA All-American with the University of Florida Gators, helping the team earn back-to-back NCAA Championship crowns in 2011 and 2012. In each of the title-matches, she clinched the dual-winning match for the Gators earning herself Most Valuable Player in the tournament as a result. She played No. 1 and No. 2 singles and doubles throughout her career, producing a 38-0 career record among Southeastern Conference (SEC) competition.
