Jonas Andersson

Jonas Andersson was hired as the men's tennis coach at UIW in May, 2017. Prior to returning to his alma mater, Andersson was a tennis professional at West End Racquet Club in Torrance, Calif.
Andersson is no stranger to the university, as he played tennis for three years during which time he won three national championships, becoming the first and only UIW athlete to win a national title. In 1994 he was the Rolex men’s doubles national champion, and in 1995 he won the NAIA National Singles Championship and teamed with Javier Ruiz to win the NAIA National Doubles Championship. He was an NAIA All-American in both 1995 and 1996. He received his bachelor’s of business administration degree from UIW in the spring of 1997.

Incarnate Word, founded in 1881, is a church-affiliated, liberal arts university. Its 57-acre campus, including a villa listed with the National Register of Historic Places, is located on a former estate.
